I have provided this
information because of Customer requests I do not however recommend this TEST, it is a dangerous
procedure that can
cause serious bodily injury if not done correctly So please proceed with
extreme !CAUTION! Do NOT use a Battery charger in
place of a A good Quality set of jumper cables
are required as well! 1st:
Connect a set of jumper cables as per diagram You will need a jumper wire (I Recommend
10 Gauge) as illustrated by yellow wire with alligator
clips in drawing 2nd: Connect
one end of the 10/GA wire to the Pos Post of the Starter. (Caution) (Keep hands &
clothing clear of the Gear) It is very important to have a
good hold on the Starter, because when it begins to run there
will be a jerk from the tork it creates. Now touch the other
end of the 10/GA wire to the spade (or) on some
Starters it will be a small silver post. If the Starter works, you will here a
snap, this is the Plunger traveling down to the contacts, and
pushing the Starter Drive Gear out, the Starter Motor will begin
to run and
the Gear that is now out almost 2 inchs will
rotate very fast. |
